Beautiful Bulkheads...

So for those of you who may not know, Cath Kidston tries to create a lovely, boutiquey feel to their shops, giving their customers the best shopping experience. To do this, we use good displays, windows and shopability. One of our main source of displays are the bulkheads. (The bits above the shelves and storage units, which are dressed to create a scene you can relate to.)

So this week I have been looking at and learning about the way Cath Kidston do their bulkheads.

Polly has helped me to understand, in more detail, the way I should use props and products to create a bulkhead display, which entices the customer to shop as well as being aesthetically pleasing.

I then had a practice myself and played with a few of the bed and bath bulkheads... let me know what you think...

It's been a good week and we are getting closer and closer to christmas!!! Smiles all round I think :D

Week 1 at CK!!!

What an exciting week it's been!!!!

Learning the ropes and developing ideas to make the new store a success is all part of the fun at the moment and I am loving it.

I have started doing my own displays with the area VM, Polly. She is great, and teaches me a whole lot every time I see her!

I absolutely love doing the display tables, but am still not as confident as I would like to be. Luckily for me I have a fantastic boss, who is amazing at guiding me, whilst allowing me to have a free reign enough to be able to create the displays using my own ideas.

Smiles all round :) xxx

It has happened!

Finally, all my hard work has payed off!!!

I am now in-store Visual Merchandiser for Cath Kidston!!!! Yayyy me!

I love the bright colours, the beautiful florals and the vintage feel. Although it is not too everyones taste, it suits me down to the ground.

So it is not a full on fashion role, but I am so glad to have got the job. I love interiors, design, making things look pretty that I believe it is the right step for me. And if I am right, which I really hope I am, this job will be more beneficial to my future than the fashion world I was constantly trying to get into.

Time to learn even more about an amazing brand, tap into my vintage loving side, and work just as hard as I have been to get a job!!!!

Smile and all is okay!

I want to say a massive thank-you to everyone who helped me get to where I am now... Joanie! All the companies I interned for, my parents and friends who never gave up believing in me, and Vanya, Jewellery by Vanya was one of the brands that helped me realise my love for vintage inspired things, and my love for pretty things!

THANK YOU!

Christmas is coming!!!

Can you believe how quickly this year has gone?
And now it is nearly christmas!

This year I have completed my degree with a 2:1, interned for some fabulous companies, learnt more than I could have imagined and met some amazing people along the way.

Now all I need is the job offer of a lifetime to come find me! I will be waiting! But whilst I wait I keep applying to all the jobs that I feel I would be good at, that are available, anything to keep me working within fashion and the lifestyle sector.

I don't know if any of you have trouble finding jobs, but I do know it is a tough time out there! Lots of empty promises, disappointments, interviews you thought went well but never heard from. But don't panic, we are all fantastic in our own rights, and we will get our dream jobs! chin up chuck.

Wow it has been a while...

Yet again I have neglected my blog. Bad Girl!!!

But now I am back with plenty to tell you...

I have finished at OFFICE, where I was interning as a press assistant. I loved every minute of it, and the guys I worked with were absolutely fabulous!

After an amazing two months, where I learnt a lot more about PR and the running of a showroom, I got @holsmarsh the internship and trained her up ready to take over in my place.

I left there to start with the amazing Debbie at Jinkksy. The jewellery she designs and makes by hand is beautiful and glamorous, worn by the amazing TOWIE cast, and other celebs such as Peter Andre.

To say I am excited is an extreme understatement. I cannot wait to get stuck in with the PR and any other aspects of the business, such as making, to help Debbie out!! I am hoping that in doing so I can help her and the brand grow, making Jinkksy an even bigger deal than it already is!

Keep an eye on the blog to see how my first few days go later this week.!!! Check out Jinkksy on twitter, Facebook and the website. But bare in mind there will be a whole new website soon where you can get your own Jinkksy Jewellery.

A whole load of fun.

Hi guys,

So sorry, I know a new blog post has been a long time coming, but as always I have been super busy trying my best to get myself a job.

I have been working hard hard hard at Office Press Showroom, and enjoying it all!!! networking with press and trying to establish myself!

Apart from that I have been away a few times and had a fabulous time with family and friends, although one person was missing.

This weekend I went on a min cruise on the P&O Oceana ship, where I ate well, drank to much and danced into the morning with all sorts of fab people, including Ali Parry and Gareth Gates.

I love the P&O ship, and the mini cruise weekends, not to mention the 24 hour cafe and endless lists of cocktails to try. Would definitely recommend these weekend breaks to all of you!

Another favorite of the moment is Jinkksy jewellery. As seen on the fabulous TOWIE cast, you can check it out and get your own at www.jinkksy.co.uk or follow @jinkksy  for some fabulous giveaways!!!
Images both from Jinkksy site.

But be warned, it's addictive, and love at first sight!!!!

Don't forget to follow me @Jadehudson2010 and see what else happens in the world of Jade.

Smiles for all of you,

Yet another new Internship... OFFICE

Hi Guys,

Another apology needed for the lack of blogging lately, it has been a mad few weeks.

After hoping for the possibility of a job coming out of Instinct PR, but then being told that actually they were not in the situation to hire me, I was left devastated and back at square one! Back to applying for more internships and jobs.

I managed to get an interview with Tobie @ Office Press, as he had been told by Robyn @ InStyle that I was a hard worker and organised, which led to my latest placement.

I am filling an intern/press assistant role, and am hoping that with even more experience under my belt, after 3 months I will be suitable for a paid role somewhere.

I am based in the Office Press Showroom in Covent Garden, and I absolutely love the atmosphere there. Neal's Yard is my favorite hideaway for a little salad and sunning when the weather is as nice as it has been!

At Office I have been busy organizing shoes to go to different publications, as well as ensuring they all come back and are logged into the system correctly. I tidy the showroom and ensure all is looking it's best, as well as keeping on top of the shoes that get returned to the press cupboard.

This cupboard is my home from home for the next few months, from her I email, call and organise the samples to be sent and returned. I love my little cubby hole.

I have to say so far so good but it's only the first week, lets hope it stays as fun and that I keep smiling!

Don't forget  to share your smile!
Have fun and enjoy

Regal Rose...

If you have never heard of them... Where Have You Been Hiding?????

This delightful jewellery brand is run by twin sisters Rebecca and Louisa, and the fashion forward, funky but feminine jewellery is a must have for every aspiring fashionistas wardrobe.

Not only can you pop over to their website to check out some of their gorgeous designs, but you can also share and win on facebook, with their tag prize draw.

I love their selection of eclectic cuff rings, and not to mention the extremely covetable locket necklaces.

And to make them even more desirable, they are affordable!!
How can we resist?!?!?

Instinct PR ...

So it turns out there is no job placement to fill. :( (feels sorry for self)

But not to worry, keep smiling!

I have been asked to stay on for one more week, and already have an interview scheduled next week, so the next part of my fashion career begins to unravel in front of me...

This interview will hopefully lead to another internship, from which I can gain even more PR experience and ultimately help me develop my knowledge so I can aim for a job!

It's all part and parcel of being a fashion graduate I suppose! Hopefully it will all fall in to place and I will work my butt off until I get a job.

Until then...

Smile.

A little bit more Instinct PR ...

So it is coming to the end of my 2 week scheduled internship with Instinct PR. I have been doing the day - to day jobs of a Press assistant/officer, and have really enjoyed my time here.

I will be sitting down with the team tomorrow and discussing the future, which could lead to a number of things:

*Staying on as an intern for a bit longer
*Looking elsewhere for other intern/job opportunities
*OR (the one I am most hoping for) getting offered a permanent placement on the team.

Fingers crossed for me please!

I really like the people I work with here, and love the mixture of responsibility, hard work and fun.
The more time I have spent here, the more I have adapted to the way they work and I feel like I am now in sync with the team, knowing what to do when I am left to my own devises.

Let's hope it all works out for the best.

Don't forget to share a smile and keep checking in for the news, whatever it may be!

The Graduation Day!!!

It finally arrived...

It was a super early start, as we had to get from home to Kent for 8:30 am. I got up early, washed my hair, and did all the usual girly things to get ready, prepping for the big day!

I had searched high and low for the perfect dress and after changing my mind on a few dresses I opted for one that was slightly different, but colours that would go with my graduation robe and hood.

I was really happy and comfortable in my dress so felt confident on the day. I was also extremely impressed with all the other girls outfits who looked suitably gorgeous. And despite the initial fear, NO-ONE wore the same outfit! OR fell over during the ceremony!!!! Thank our lucky stars.

A MASSIVE thanks to everyone for their support, and all the staff at UCA Rochester who made the course so enjoyable!

It was so nice spending time with family and friends who were all so proud! We spent a lovely evening at the fabulous little restaurant in the old town Hemel Hempstead; Restaurant 65. I got to eat great food, drink great wine, and champagne and spend it with my nearest and dearest! PERFECT.

Me and my Pal Sarah got too see each other again after not seeing her for a while, so that too was very good! She looked lovely as ever!

The day turned out to be beautiful, which helped with the picture taking, and also the after ceremony drinks and BBQ that was put on by the University. Very tasty!!!

Let me know what you think of my dress, and if you graduated what you wore!!!

Share a smile and be happy,

Enjoy
